Our Steering Committee & Committee Chairs

The steering committee's role is to advise and support the on-time and successful execution of the 50th-anniversary gala. The responsibilities of the Steering Committee include the following:

  • Be a resource, providing advice and direction for the overall execution of the event

  • Set project timelines and budget

  • Monitor event progress, evaluate, and mitigate risks

  • Help address roadblocks and provide approvals

 

The committee chairs lead a team of sorors to execute responsibilities across the seven committees listed.

Anniversary Soiree & Scholarship Brunch

Soror Angela Nelson, S02'

This committee is responsible for the planning, coordination and successful execution of the co-hosted Fire & Ice 50th Anniversary Soiree and the Sisterhood/Scholarship Brunch.

Awards & Recognition

Soror Tenisa Frye, S95'

Soror Tomecca Sloane, S97'

This committee is charged with recognizing individual sorors who exemplify the characteristics of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and whose contributions to Lambda Pi during or after graduation have been notable. 

Chapter History

Soror Tiffany Taylor Tait, F82'

This committee will conduct a history audit and improve the permanent record keeping of important chapter events, including but not limited to the collection and organization of pictures, names, special events, mementos and other documents of interest and/or importance.

Finance & Fundraising

Soror Michelle Luciano Villa, S22'

This committee is charged with maintaining financial compliance, coordinating fundraising and sponsorship efforts and providing oversight of the 50th-anniversary budget. They ensure that all committees operate within the financial policies enforced by the Grand Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Hospitality & Gifts

Soror Maya Sanders, S19'

This committee's primary responsibility is to provide a welcoming hospitality experience, promote fellowship, and extend sisterly courtesies throughout the anniversary weekend. Additionally, they will research and curate anniversary-related gifts and swag for registrants.

Marketing & Communications

Soror Aryka McClaster, S19'

This committee is charged with developing a marketing and communications plan that ensures adequate exposure of the 50th Anniversary event.

Service Project

Soror Stacey McGinnis, S91'

This committee is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating a community outreach activity in collaboration with a local non-profit organization on our Chapter Charter Day and during the 50th Anniversary celebration weekend.
